Blog Makeover

I spent most of yesterday afternoon completely re-doing our blog layout and I'm happy to say I'm pretty pleased with how it's turning out!  I was expecting the changes I wanted to make to be super complicated (who seriously understands HTML anyway?) but I was surprised at how straightforward they actually ended up being, especially thanks to many other bloggers' tutorials out there.  Thank goodness for google!

The main reason I have been wanting to re-do how the blog looks is because of a little quirk I've discovered about myself over the years: I really care about aesthetics.  Not just a little.  A lot.  Here's an illustration: I really enjoy writing in journals (it helps me reflect on and process through what I'm going through in life and what God is teaching me), but only if they look good.  Yep, you read that correctly.  I have to think the journal is/looks cool, otherwise I don't even want to bother with it.  I literally have been journaling through a season of life, stopped because I lost interest in how my journal looked, and started again when I found a different journal I liked.

I think I've felt the same way about this blog.  Now that it looks cooler, I'm way more motivated to put time and effort into writing on it.  Because I'm excited about sharing something I like and am proud of.  That, and I'm learning I have interesting things to say that people will care about hearing.  So if you're into that sort of thing, follow the blog and read what I have to say.  Because I intend to start saying more now. :)

  1. Pretty, Nicole! I always check your blog & love reading your posts, so I'm glad there will be more to come soon! :)
I am also very interested in keeping things aesthetically pleasing but am completely mystified by the HTML blog formatting process. Google & I need some quality time too if I am to take it seriously.
Also, I love, love, love the family pictures! Beautiful!
    Peace & love,
    Renee
